Time For Prints / CDs is quite a prevalent practice among photographers and models all over the world, where they seek each other with a mutual understanding between themselves to help each other by time to develop or expand their individual portfolios for promotion of their careers. They both share the same goal of expanding and refreshing their existing portfolios with new images. Either the photographer is trying out new techniques, films and processing them differently from the specified or expanding his portfolio with images that he/she feels are lacking in his/her portfolio. It could be anything from styling, art, artistic nudes, nudes, glamour, portraiture, special lighting techniques, outdoors...........

Photographers and models seek willing partners to share their talents mutually to create or develop a new style or looks to add to their respective portfolios. Sometimes Make-up artists also join in such a project where the makeup artist is trying some new makeup styles/hair styling/ or body painting. Since the photographer ends up with major expenses like spending on a studio hire, assistants (if he / she owns none of these and wishes to use for the shoot), films, developing and printing., etc. sometimes very nominal charges at actual are paid to the photographer to cover up such expenditures that he has to meet immediately.  Generally such shoots normally require about 4 hours minimum if indoors or could be more if one goes location shooting but when the participants are creatively involved time factor becomes immaterial.

The model has to arrange for the make-up, styling and clothing, unless the photographer is trying out something new and has these lined up for the shoot. Usually models normally end up with just spending the time for the shoot. Sometimes make-up artists or stylists can also be roped in for their expertise in exchange of few images from the shoot. They too have to have a certain portfolio to show to get more work from new photographers and agencies.

The hallmark for each professional is judged on the basis of what shows in a photograph.

There are often times when two professionals come together each with a different requirement to compile a portfolio with extreme ends of robed and disrobed attire: like the photographer maybe looking forward to expand his / her portfolio with artistic body images, whereas the model who has been known to be doing more of nudes and glamour is looking  forward to add some life style images in his / her portfolio. Or, it could be the other way round. So both share to help each other in expanding their composites with their talents.

These talented professionals come to a written understanding prior to any actual photo session to remove any chance of  misunderstanding that may arise in the future. The photographer gives away  four to five  numbers of selected prints at a print size of his discretion from the shoot to the model and makeup artist if involved in the talent barter arrangement for their respective portfolios.

Any further prints or copies the model has to buy at near cost price.

The photographer retains the copyright of all the material exposed to be used at his discretion. The photographer always give aditional prints, within a reasonable time limit, whenever required by the model at cost price that may include some incidental expenses that are incurred in getting the prints made from his outside patronised photo finishing labs.

This is one of the most economical ways of getting a portfolio made or expanding an existing one with new images. It also helps both in experimenting and exchanging experiences gained while working, as the case may be, with different photographers or models.

Lots of photographers have started using Digital cameras for such work. The reason being that it is cheap shooting with digital, the results are instant and very good hard copies can be made, if required. The talent sharing partners get selected images burned on a CD for their use.

• On a very selective basis I wish to shoot with female models on T.F.Cd arrangement and give them in return a few edited high resolution as well as Web enabled digital images burnt on Cd.

Talent Barter for Artistic Nudes

In an artistic pursuit of creativity, yours truly desires to work, with willing female posers who understand creativity and value it, on a very selective basis to explore the mystical female body form. I wish to expand my personal portfolio with female glamour (generally calendar style), bodyscapes/ body forms by carefully preserving the anonimity of the poser in the picture on a T.F.Cd basis.

Please avoid contacting me for porn style shoots, as that is not my genre. I do not shoot male figures.

Who can model??

Practically anybody; who shares, understands creativity and value it as an art form; like aspiring model, amateur model, women who loved to be photographed, besides professional models ..... practically any body who love their bodies and like to be photographed. I am looking to concentrate on the mystics of the female body form, the lines and bodyscapes where the face does not show or if whatever little bit of face gets included it will still preserve anonymity of the sitter. I am looking for subjects who have good bust forms, nice curves, good skin, nice feet and hands surely not many have perfect bodies but I could agree to shoot where I feel there are good prospects of my getting artistic pictures.

In case of people who may not require a regular model portfolio, I could shoot some normal pictures for them to share with their loved ones or for the wall display, etc. by giving digital files on a Cd.

Whoever is  interested in mutual expansion of portfolio on T.F.CD. (Time For CD) basis may contact me with complete details, legal document of age proof along with a written undertaking declaring that you shall at no time on your own or at behest of anybody initiate any legal actions or do such acts that may bring physically harm or harm the reputation of the photographer as all photography was done with your initiating it and with full consent and understanding with your active participation.

The questions that troubles the first time posers as they have put to me in their query for photo shoot:

• Will there be privacy during the photography session?
  • There will be complete privacy.
• Can a person of confidence be brought along for the photography session?
  • You can bring along a chaperon who is mature and you have absolute confidence in the person, and in whose company you feel comfortable but do not feel shy or embarrassed when semi nude or nude. The person accompanying should not be an interfering type.
• Who else will be there during the photography session?
  • Me the photographer and any one who accompanied you to the photography session or any one, if, hired by you for styling and makeup.
• How to bare and feel comfortable in front of the photographer or camera?
  • A few frames will be shot to make each other comfortable in clothes you feel comforatble in. These are reduced by taking off behind a curtain, coming in to the shooting area wearing a gown. The frames are jointly previewed and discussed while seeing on the monitor screen.
• When will the agreed photos taken?
  • I would be shooting my images first till satsisfied with the result. At the end of the session or another mutaully agreed date your photos will be taken with the way you want to be photographed. In case you intend bringing or hiring a make-up artist, stylist, etc. it is better in your interest to shoot on another mutually convenient day.
• Will my identity be safe and kept anonymous?
  • I can assure you to the best of my ability of keeping your identity safe and anonymous, but you should be very sure and also ensure the same from your chaperon and the same, in case you invited, from make-up artist or stylist, etc. I never talk nor share details about my models photographed, even with the best of friends nor show pictures of photography session that have face or any other identification featured. Even if you ask in curiosity about my past models, I do not share. So please do not have any hard feelings when you
• Will my photos from the session showcased or published?
  • The whole exercise of doing the photo shoot is to show case my work as an artist. As already mentioned that I am interested in shooting pictures where the identity of the poser can not be made out. Even marks of identification are not included in the composition. Where in some cases it is difficult to avoid any mark in the composition, it will be edited out. Even prior to the shoot or during the shoot you show a desire to include face, these will never be showcased even if you do give your consent in writing freeing me use the pictures as I want them to use. I am aware it will take time for people who are close to understand and not meddle in some one's artist pursuits as such I do not wish any kind of inconvenience popping up in the future. I have full belief that when we have spent some time together during a photo session, we do become friends. The main ingradient of good friendship is mutual respect, trust and honesty and in it I believe 100%.
• How do we proceed further to finalise the photography session are there any requirements from your side?
  • Yes. As you are concerned with your safety and anonymity. I too want to be absolved of any repurcussion, where you had approached for the photography session of artistic semi nude or nudes. I would like to meet me in person to understand each other. We go ahead once we feel satisfied with each others honest creative intents. The meeting can be in a public space. You are free to bring along any person of your confidence. I will feel comfortable as well when you have some one with for the initial meeting and also during the photography session. In case we do not feel comfortable, I do assure of your anonymity at all times.
• What needs to be done to assure you?
  • I would require a letter of request and declaration in your hand writing that you are legally adult (attach copy of valid age proof). That you are of a sound mind. That you have on your own initiative and free will approached me for a session of artistic semi nude and artisitic nude. That you shall at no time on your own or at behest of anybody initiate any legal actions or do such acts that may bring physical harm or harm my reputation and standing. That you shall at no time in the future pressure me to stop showcasing or publishing photographs, of course it is understood that these will have anonymity as agreed.
• What do I need to bring for the photo session?
  • You should bring a gown, a towel, hair brush & comb, basic makeup kit. Any other things required after we have had a discussion on the style we will be working to attain.
  • That all photographic images, poses, expressions and style during the photo session were done with your with full consent and initiatives and understanding with your active participation. That you will be seen and previewed all images taken on the monitor screen during and after the photography session.

Lots of husbands have approached me to get artistic pictures shot of their spouses. I need to get a confirmation from the concerned spouse that she is not under any pressure to do the same. Requests for any explicit pictures or visuals that cross the boundary of decency shall not be entertained nor photographed. Please do not insist to Embarras me.

• I hold my rights of discretion to do a TFP or to charge.
• Makeup, styling, wardrobe are at extra cost, if required by the poser.
